45,000,000 years ago, an era far beyond our imagination, China Shu Ape, the ancestors of human beings and all other primates, erected a milestone of the evolution in our planet. Liyang is thus entitled as ‘the Ancestral Home of Human Beings’.
 In 221 B.C., Qingshihuang Emperor (the first emperor in the Chinese feudal society) unified the country. It is at that time that Liyang was made a county. More than 2,000 years having flied, literati of all dynasties have composed numerous poems in Liyang. Libai, the greatest poet in Tang Dynasty, even had visited Liyang for three times, and left many poems here. |
